 Hello David:
   This is a P.S.  on the replacement of
a broken pin of this type.
   Take a regular tuning pin a little smaller
than the hole,  saw it off the right length,
then saw a slot into the back of the pin 
and insert it into the pin hole in the plate.  
 Then drive a metal  wedge in the slot 
until it is tight. An old screwdriver tip can
be used. To tighted, tap up if too tight tap 
down.  After you  do this a few  times it 
does not take very long.
