Hi, I have been working on an old Ibach grand these last couple of days and
its unique feature which I've not seen before is that the bottom octave has
these notes strung onto vertical extentions of the bass bridge, in that
these 12 notes make contact into a notch in the side of individual
hexagonal
rods that screw into the top of the existing bridge with a bar on top of
these to keep them in place - quiet novel, cant say it sounds any better or
worse for it, but also Ibach when to all this trouble to get longer strings
and then only made it an 85 note piano. Action is regular Langer but for
extra break in the bass at last octave.
