Has everyone seen the article by Susan Kline about "String Freshening?" The article has everything, a real problem, a hypothesis, positive and negative experimental results, theoretical aspects, documentation, useful tips, historical perspective, credit given where and to whom credit was due, risks, --everything. A vast amount of work - just to determine a reliable method for eliminating a tiny little string noise in a particular model of piano. The work was superb, practically setting a "Gold Standard" for investigative and experimental technical work. She has added to the profession's body of knowledge She deserves an award.
