Query: Voicing New Yamaha Hammers

I just got back from Yamaha's Little Red School House, and I know that they 
are very discouraging to the steaming idea.  I mentioned that I liked to use 
the technique, and they said that they will give no warranty coverage to any 
piano of theirs that is steamed.  I don't know how that would apply to new 
hammers, however.
