Rob, This might sound hardnosed, but it might help: >Currently we are starting a major campaign here to reorganize our chapter and encourage non members to join. Why do you _want_ non-members to join?? Maybe if you thought about that _real hard_ you might come up with some ideas that would encourage them to join. >As the typical story goes, many local techs resist the Guild and even resent the idea of unification among technicians. Where does the typical story come from? How many non-members have you personally discussed this with? How many non-members are you already friendly with, or is this some theoretical idea? >Our goal is to dissolve some of these issues and try and get new associates. Whatever do you want more associates for? The guild is already adding more associates than RPTs every month and as the older generation dies off........ Furthermore why would non-members want to be associates? They aren't full fledged members, they can't vote, and when they do things like publish newsletters, start new chapters, teach classes, etc. they are resented. If you really want new members you will have to do more than offer them "goodies", pizza and technical sessions on pitch raising. Frankly, it will require some real creativity, but you did great in that area in finding a trainee and wife. So keep up the good work.
