Clyde I don't know how climate comes into play with tuning pins in your area, but here in SE Minnesota, I've experienced it going both ways, that is, the jumpy pins in a piano during a winter-dry weather-tuning are worse than they are during a summer-humid weather-tuning. Then again, tight jumpy pins in the summer tends to be a little tamer in the winter. I must add that these pianos are not the norm, maybe one out of 600 a year. A couple I remember were Wurlitzers.
