"If temperament is so important to the music why can't it be recognized
without resorting to electronic devices?"

Mr. Leifsson writes:

Oh come on Ric, even if your brain is a better computer than a tuning
device, a tuning device can do a better job at recognizing a series of
tones played from somewhere and put them together into a whole picture.
Heck, Mr. Paderewsky would have to play the "Temperament Boogie" for you if
you were to have the slightest picture of a temperament.

Mr. Moody wrote:

"Or, if no one can tell by
listening, what difference does it make what temp is used?"

Mr. Leifsson writes:

We can tell the difference, but I doubt anyone that doesn´t KNOW the
difference can put together a picture of the tuning except for the notion
of "some fast tenths, slow thirds" etc. etc.
Ziz iz ol obot ze Zubconziusnez und wir können nicht juzt Unizonz tunen,
können wir?
