I have used pure rubbing alcohol on satin finishes when I didn't have anything else, with no negative effects. I don't see the problem here, of course, there is always the problem of encountering the one time it WILL be a problem, but it hasn't happened yet. A little care may be required, like putting the rubbing alcohol on a cloth to dampen it. That's how I use it, not pouring it on.
