Dear Linda, I don't think one can to be too clean, even in tuning. It is possible to get dirty later though. In the case of the CD all that was needed is to put a little reverberation which would give the recording more openness. They may well be complaining about the piano being too dry, no sense of space. Also if they change the speed of playback the piano will sound horrible, maybe one of their aims. Recording studio work sometimes gets strange. Stay with your goals. Newton
