Thanks for your reply. Interesting!
I use the same pin block material from Schaaf or sometimes from Pianotek. I
now use a #F drill (.257") and get the torque that suits me. By the time I
drive the pins, chip to pitch and tune (usually 8 passes) they feel pretty
good. I should torque them to see exactly what they'd read, but they feel a
lot like the new pianos I tune for dealers. I'm tempted from time to time to
try other blocks, but stick with this combination.
