re what Pianos to raise pitch

Hi List.
In answer to Pats enquiry about which pianos to raise to A440 the only way
he will know is by trial and error.

After a while (quite a while) he will learn that there are some pianos that
raising pitch is NOT an option, while others you feel very confident raising
a semitone or even a full tone.

But until he goes through the learning curve of breaking strings,endless
retuning,Customers complaining to their friends that your tuning does not
hold very well,...it can be a hard lesson to learn.

As a rule of thumb the older the piano is the more chance of tuning
instability and breaking strings being the end result.

In summary to Pats question the RPT Tuners experience and past knowledge of
this procedure reigns supreme.
