You bet your bippy I would try it.

CA will soak into the wood (will not adhere to the Teflon)
and make it less susceptable to changes in moisture which is
a good thing.

I would consider it's longevity better than it's neighbor
because of the stability of the wood which causes the
problems in the first place.

I have NO problems with it at all.  Just be careful and
don't get it all over the action.
