Unfortunately, it is absolutely "on topic" for those of us with normal bodies! <SNIP> >if this condition does not clear up. Sorry, Phil, this is not the weather nor a head cold. Ed and Kristinn have given good advice (which I sometimes follow). Yoga can be a big help; various forms of non piano exercise may help too. Sometimes it's too easy to feel "hey I'm pumping tons with my tuning arm, I lift pianos, I'm in good shape." It's important to balance out the stresses we put on our bodies. I try to get to the Y early in the morning, spend a few minutes reading while pedalling on a stationary bike, use the Nautilus equipment for upper body muscles, finish off with some time on a rowing machine. Not aerobically intense enough to do much to my cholesterol levels, but my body complains alot less at the end of a day of tuning. Still, it's hard to fit in the schedule (with two daughters who chronically miss the bus to school etc.). Sign up for those yoga classes, and give the thumb a rest! Patrick
