---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment I have a customer with a 6'4" 1911 Chickering grand that has brass hammer shank and wippen flanges. They are OK, but at that age, one never knows. I have two choices. Heat treat the flanges or replace them with wooden ones. I have never tried the heat treatment. Anyone with some suggestions, or is willing to do it? If I were to replace the shank flanges, what do I get? What about the wippen flanges, Which ones replace those? Any help will be appreciated.
