It's sort of like Leif Eriksen beating Columbus, in turn preceded by the
Chinese, finally named for Vespucci (sadly, not Backers) except that
folks were living on the continent already; when was ET civilized? The
famous discoverers eventually went home, or like Tasman, missed
something big during their voyages.
