Why do you need a few drinks before the Icelandic kiss?  Is it that bad?

Of course, I don't know what an icelandic kiss is.  Do you rub noses like
the eskimos?  Maybe the booze warms up you nose a little.

I don't know, but I've been told that an icelandic kiss is mighty cold.
