Perhaps. The locals, including the wood technologist from Vancouver, BC,
called it a hybrid between Engelmann and 'mountain' spruce. It was my
impression at the time that this was something different than what we refer
to as eastern white spruce. The species name was also given, but I don't
remember it. I probably have it written down someplace.
