splicing bass strings

ARGH!!!!! Oh, Jeeeeeeezzzzz. I was concerned about changing the scaling
parameters - I suppose really just trying to make him think before he did
it. But hey, I guess you have a point regarding mass lost + mass gained. I
should think there was a tad more mass in the copper per knot unit section.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh just forget I said anything! I'll crawl back into my hole.
