Hi Terry, I started with a SOT, then a SAT #162, which has been upgraded, and I use as a spare. (But never needed) The reasons I like the SATlll over the SATl or ll. 1) It does not have a RAM for housekeeping, it uses a chip that does not require power to retain it's memory. So it is more reliable. 2) Size 3) Autoswitch, I feel this is a saving of a few minutes per piano. 4) Longer battery life. I like the battery life indicator. 5) I haven't used the exam feature, and can't talk anyone into an historic tuning yet. 6) I have used the thing that allows you to alter the tuning +/-, a few times.
