There are two main differences between the II and the III. One is size, the 
other is the automatic note switch. I know there are many other features of 
the III, like the historic temperaments stored in its memory, and the tuning 
exam, but I have not used those. I have not had any problems with it, with 
the exception that in the first octave and last octave the automatic note 
feature doesn't always work. But it's certainly not something for which I 
would throw the thing in the trash.
