Hi guys and gals... ran into this like odd ball thingamagibby
today...was wondering if anyone knew about this or ran into
something like this before.

A Knight piano... number 31662. From about C6 or so down for
almost the entire length of the treble bridge there was this
mahogany strip about an inch wide and perhaps 2 mils thick at the
thickest glued to the soundboard just above the bridge. What is
this all about ? Obviously a factory job. Piano has hardly been
touched inside.. Owners say its been tuned.... once...grin.

What is this some kind of a mass increase deal... and what kind
of reasoning would the factory have had for glueing this thing
in. Looked like it was kind of an afterthought thingy... like it
was put on after the panel was finished.

very curious.
