I now use the SAT III and it is very accurate indeed, as tests confirm. This "tool" is a wonderful aid to tuning and is especially a time saver where pitch raising is necessary. Of course, i ALWAYS confirm with tests,(although I very rarely find the SAT to have gotten it wrong) and tune unisons aurally, . I would concur with this analogy: "...the SAT has lightened my workload both mentally and physically I'd like to think that the SAT means the same thing to Piano technicians that the Chain Saw means to lumberjacks!" And from Dale Whitehead, RPT.: "....this level of fine tuning made for a very high degree of tuning Clint Black's Live recordings of Studio Caliber. The SAT III made me look good.....Period!"
