Maybe PTG should consider doing away with the "ritual formality". I have to admit that when I joined my local chapter a couple years ago they did the vote thing - it was kinda wierd, and I too did feel a bit put off by it. I had to think to myself "so like, what is the deal here, is this some cult or something that one has to be evaluated for?" If anyone in the business can join (which is my full understanding), maybe some bylaws somewhere could be changed? Perhaps to join one could just fill out an application, pay the fee, and show that they are involved in the trade in some form or fashion.
