Ted, Probably an olde "Hale" #1. These were smaller than the current #1, available. I have one, and it's the only thing that will fit on the tuning pins of an 1804 Clementi Square Piano. You might check with an "Old-Timer", in your neck of the woods. Regards, Joe Garrett P.S. The Olde "Hale" #4 was a whole lot larger than the current #4's and will fit on those !@#$%^^** 6/0, 7/0 & 8/0 pins that were used way back when. (but, that's another story) [grin] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ted Simmons" <ted@yourlink.net> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2001 9:23 PM Subject: Spanish Piano > A piano tuner friend of mine called to ask me to loan him a #1 tuning tip > because he has a Spanish-built piano, straight strung, not overdampered, and > none of his tuning tips fit.
