the Yamaha "Metal Polish" I mentioned earlier is a very fine polish. Just
apply with a soft cloth and polish the surface around the inlays. No
scratches on high gloss polyester... (and Q-tip is not needed!). But be sure
to get the right polish, as Yamaha manufactures several different
polish-stuff for band-instruments!

  Q-tip and Brasso (Brass polish) worked well but the piano was high gloss
  polyster.  Haven't tried it on a laquered finish.
