Tuning pin size?

And I just restrung a piano with 2/0 pins and first used my old shop hammer
for chipping. I noticed that the tip seemed loose, so I tried my old Randy
Potter student hammer - it sat too high on the pin. So I got out my
daily-use hammer from my case - it fit perfectly. All tips are indicated to
be #2 tips. Go figure.
