 Terry, List,

 Per your request, a thought:

As an aside to your primary concern that a dealer may have misrepresented a
price, how do you manage to find your price quote for what a C3 now costs
 as more representative?

Having just looked in a recent Ancott Associates Music Product
Directory, the ASR (Average Suggested Retail) for a C3 is significantly
 greater than your numbers.

Terry, just two thoughts.
Number one; never give out numbers, value is a very relative thing and since
you are not a relative (ha ha) bow out respectfully from pricing someones
piano as it can easily turn into a can of worms.
Number two; if you can't stop yourself be sure you are armed with some kind
of guide, like the "Ancott", to take the responsibility off of yourself.
Ok, I thought of a number three; be sure to always have a "disclaimer" with
you.
