Well, Terry, at least you are still in hearing distance from the piano.

"I don't think there is an easy way to tune them."

  Oh, yes there is! :-)

"A nice piano but not worth the effort without a 3' handle on the =
hammer."

I find the Farrell Pivoting Super Extension Square Grand Tuning Hammer =
with the 31-inch pivoting handle to make the job very much worth the =
effort - and with no pain! The part that has the tuning tip is 18 inches =
long, and the second part, from the pivot point to the end (where you =
would hold it with it fully extended) is 13 inches.

"Tuning these things really keeps you on your toes"

I take it all in...........sitting down!

Hey, is your guy in New Bedford willing to pay travel expenses (and =
time)? Aren't the trees real pretty about this time of year?

      Hi Joe,
Tell my back that, after I have tuned one. (When I used to) I was =
sore for three days.
I don't think there is an easy way to tune them.

    Joe,
There's a 7' Chickering Square in New Bedford, Mass. that the owner =
is searching for a tuner.
After many years of servicing this piano I was not interested in =
prostrating myself across the
strings to tune it again. A nice piano but not worth the effort =
without a 3' handle on the hammer.
