Hi Diane
Have used appox. 75 sets of these strings. I find that of all strings =
I've used these require the least amount of twist. Typically I twist one =
turn in the bi-chord section and a half in the monos. I have tried =
Roger J.'s suggestion using only a half turn with equal success. Take =
your pick. I've even heard of some guys using none. Hey if they buzz a =
little later add some twist. As a matter of fact I can't recall ever =
having one buzz, hmmm maybe my memory............
If your project has a supplemental tenor section such as the Stwy =
A's,Mason AA or other. I find that sometimes one & half turns are needed =
to get these strings to brighten. Even at that it may take several days =
to a week for them to completely develop tonally. I usually start with =
one twist and wait a few days to see if further twisting is required .
At first the tone can have a bit of a dead string sound but don't =
panic. They will come up. If they don't come up another 1/2 twist or so =
will usually take care of this. If more than 2 twist are used in a =
string It's almost for certain to develop an annoying false beat later. =
Ask me how I know.

Subject: Twist GC bass strings?
Hi all,
I'm just about to install my first set of Danny's strings in years.
I forget, my "oldzeimers" is acting up again, I don't need to twist =
them, right?
Thanks,
Diane
