Tell that to the people in NYC. Do you think the Yankees and Mets' fans =
are eager to get back to the game?

  I disagree that the NFL canceled all the games this weekend, and that =
the ML=20
  canceled games until Friday. Some of the other baseball and football =
players=20
  are saying that football and baseball are "just a game." Even though =
they=20
  are, they are more than that. Professional sports have become part of =
our way=20
  of life. Football and baseball players are earning a living. And just =
as the=20
  rest of us have to continue with our lives, and continue making a =
living, so=20
  are the players. The professional sports people are not the only ones =
making=20
  a living off the sport. The concession workers, the parking =
attendants, the=20
  security people, etc., etc., all count on these games to make a =
living. But=20
  unlike a football player who makes $10,000's per game, some of these =
others=20
  are making just enough to put food on the table for the next week.=20

  I agree, Wim.=20
  Not to mention, we could use a little cheering up. Remember how =
important sports were to soldiers overseas. We need a little break from =
the chaos. It will still be there when the game is over. I'd consider =
a good game "moral support" at this time. Then again, having the teams =
get around without planes might be a little difficult...=20
