Silencing a piano

Hi, just like you have celeste mute in moden uprights (ie.Yamahas) the same
can be done with grands - I've several Schimmel grands from the 1960's that
had this mechnism where you could switch it on and off. As in your case it
has to be so permenent, then just install something - fixed to the action or
plate, a thin flat piece of wood with celeste felt parallel to the strike
line on each section of the keyboard.
