Hi all,
I have a client that has a 1902 Chickering upright with brass rail for =
the hammer flange.
several of the plates have cracked and will no longer hold the hammer =
assembly.
The plates are not the ones that I have on hand. They are much longer =
and have a hole drilled in one end to hold a string that hooks the =
hammer return spring. Schwander or Yamaha style setup except that the =
string is held by the butt plate and not part of the hammer butt =
assembly.
Any one have a few of these critters before we start robbing from the =
ends?
the string in theplates will be easy to replace with spider fishing =
line, but Ihave never seen this long a plate.
