I have a constant ringing in my ears (primarily my right ear) that never ceases. I have been told that it is irreversable. I cope with my tinnitus by using a visual aid in the form of an ETD. My current favored one is the Peterson ST. I have tried many other ETDs, and they are all good in their own fashions. I contracted my tinnitus by my own actions. For many years I was a Police Officer. One of my functions was a Range Officer. I spent many hours on the range, and through my own stupidity, did not use adequate ear protection. Ergo, the constant high db discharges permenantly damaged my ear drums. While I do not advocate the use of ETDs over Aural tuning, it would be nigh well impossible for me to tune adequately without the use of my ETD.
