And this was one that=20 had been purchased from a technician or a store that had posted the piano=20 online. And at no time did I or anyone assume that ALL pianos on ebay are bad. But=20 it is the risk that you run when purchasing in this fashion that made me=20 think it was not worth it. =20 In my experience a fair amount of pianos sold privately are sold based on th= e=20 "uninformed value." This "uninformed value" is not horrible for local=20 private sales in which the purchasing customer has a chance to see and hear=20 the piano and get it evaluated by a reputable technician. There are plenty=20 of pianos in the local market (not on ebay) in which the piano is not even=20 worth selling, so it is not just on ebay that these exist. But what ebay=20 (and similar sites) do not usually allow for, logistically, is for the=20 purchaser to personally evaluate the piano and also have it evaluated by a=20 technician. This is where I thought the problem lied. And that is the reason that I made the original post.
