Well we all have our own size wheel so go ahead and reinvent all you want 
too. :-)
As to expanding my temperament the answer is yes and no.............using 
f3/f4 as the temperament octave I 'usually' just go ahead and set whatever 
fits in that octave, using 3rds as my only checks. As I expand either higher 
or lower I check the fit of each note with 3/4/5 until I reach past the 
octave above and below the temperament octave. I 'think' this allows me to 
make any adjustments on the fly rather than trying to fit all notes within a 
'set' temperament octave of whatever size. Having said that...... the 
practical result is a three octave temperament.
 Since I do two pass tunings I have a real good idea the second time around 
as to where I want any note to be for it to fit best as far as any 
'musicality' concerns go.
