I agree with much of that - things can escalate out of
control.  For example on the news today here in the
UK, we learn that there have been fire bomb attacks on
some mosques and several racist attacks.  We must
differentiate between peaceful muslims and fundamental
extremists.  By attacking the peaceful, innocent
muslims they will in turn resent us and join with
their more extreme 'brothers' - so what have we
achieved?  Escalation is so dangerous, because you can
no longer keep a lid on things.
