Yes, we should always be aware of what could happen when dealing =
with wire. I friend and associate of mine, Brent Fischer, (RPT) took a =
wire in the eye while restringing a piano at the College. Had to have =
his complete eye rebuilt. Thank God he now can see perfectly, but it was =
a long process, and not very much fun.=20
(Good thing he had that Government Worker insurance.)

Subject: Warning--Be Eye Safe
Today while replacing a treble string, the cut end hit me in the eye. =
I was wearing glasses but the end still managed to cut a 1" gash in my =
lower eyelid. About a 16th higher would have dug into the =
eyeball....but it didn't. I guess God protects his foolish.
As I mentioned before I was wearing small reading glasses. =20
Next time I fool around with piano wire I will wear full goggles over =
the glasses.
I have been doing this work for over 15 years and have always tried to =
be careful. So don't say it can't happen to you. Wear your eye =
protection.
Cheers
