John Freel et al, Tinned piano wire is not suitable for high humidity situations, contrary to the manufacturers hype and popular opinion. In high humidity, the "tinning" turns a powdery white, because it's "tinning". Same as "galvanizing". :-( I have a full set of the stuff, (in cans).
