Accutuner battery

Go to your local electronic component store, (check the yellow pages).
Radio Shack has become in my opinion a real rinkydink consumer wannabe
place. They used to sell real raw components with a huge respectable
selection. Now they have very few components and lots of stupid toys
for kids and cell phones. Besides I resent them asking for my name and
phone number just to buy batteries.

What you want is four AA size rechargeable nickel-cadium batteries.
They are available for project application use which includes soldering
tabs on each end. Bundle them together flat side by side like this: =
=. Then solder the tabs together between them to make the connection.
Use a large appropriate sized piece of shrink tubing over the whole
package to make a nice tidy unit, (also available at an electronic
supply store). Some PVCE glue will hold it all nicely to the inside of
the case.

The memory and programing are stored via a small button battery on the
main board somewhat like a bios battery in a computer. Disconnecting
the main batteries will not delete your saved tunings.
