The best "trick" is to put in new felt. I've always found this little job
fairly easy, gratifying and not too expensive for most clients. Roughing up
the contact surface of old felts can help a little but if they are truly
petrified, yank 'em, says I.

Hi List

Are there any tricks to reduce the ennoying noise of bass and tenor dampers
when they return to rest on the vibrating string ?

Thanks for any idea.

Stéphane Collin.
