I've been reviewing some articles on setting downbearing and there seem =
to be a few different schools of thought. It seems (and reasonably so) =
that choices about the amount of bearing will depend on the board and =
the amount of crown. But what are the general guidelines as to how =
much, under what circumstances might you vary that amount, and in which =
direction, and what are people's general procedures including =
prestressing vs not prestressing the board?

Thanks in advance.

David Love
