Right on, Ed!

I used to make snide comments about the machine, such as that we don't listen
to music (piano or otherwise) via machine but with our ears. I still use my
aging ears as the final arbiter, but find I can--in general--do more
consistent tuning with my SAT III with less stress.

I feel there is a further advantage to my clients. As time passes, I expect
to be less and less able to judge the top octave. As a youth, I used to be
able to detect a TV set on in the next room, volume down, because of the
squeal of the horizontal sweep (ca. 20,000 Hz.). I haven't heard that in
years. I don't really know where my top limit of hearing is any more. At
least, with an ETD (taken on while I am still young enough to accept new
ideas) I have a hedge against some of the ravages of old age!
