All,
In answer to the question of favorite tools for drilling bridges, etc.
Portable and Cordless drills. Criteria: lightweight
Drill bits: the appropriate Number or English size, from my shop shelf.
(Usually purchased from high quality hardware stores or machinist supply
companies.) Jobber size, standard point. Also an automatic center punch for
accuracy. (Oh, masking tape flag for depth gauge.)
Do not air cool for bridge drilling.
Also, a good pair of SOFT knee pads, when drilling treble bridges. (no
plastic types!)
For notching: (even tho you didn't ask) High quality chisels, some which
have been specially modified. (The best ones often come from Junk
Stores/Garage Sales, etc.)
Best Regards & Happy Bridges To All
