List, As I start my refinishing business with the addition of a shop this past year, I am wanting to learn more about laquer, and the difference between using laquer vs. varnish. So far I have refinished 3 pianos using the method of hand-stripping, sanding, staining, then hand-rub varnishing with 3-4 coats. I think the pianos turn out beautiful. I now have a customer who wants laquer instead of varnish. There was a recent post on nitrocellulose laquer and Campbell products. Are these products good? Where can I order these and/or other high quality laquers? Any advice on applying lacquer - how many coats, the process of application? I would really appreciate some input.
