Subject: Yamaha upright hammer spring thread
Hello list,=20
I did not have any of this type of thread available, so I found some =
fairly hefty sewing thread, braided it as best I could for strength, and =
repaired the broken ones with it. =20

Yamaha has a replacement for this piano, as long as it is not an =
evil grey market piano. It comes with the cord wrapped around a =
cardboard spool that will give you the exact length needed when cut down =
it's length. I posted a technique for this repair which I've improved =
after added suggestions from our esteemed list. This job can be done in =
less than two hours. Search the archives. You can also buy the silk cord =
by the yard from Schaff . Tom Driscoll
