Greg, Sorry if I was misunderstood. I basically say that any good tuner can have help with a machine, and produce beautiful tunings. VT 100 helps to produce tunings with less tweaking and far better homogeneity and beauty. The average customers will not notice that, but I, as a tuner, like to have this result on a regular basis. For the average customer too, a beautifully tuned piano is far easier to play, don't know why but it is. I said too that no comparison is possible between a real time analysis, by ear/brain or electronic, and results based on assumptions,. I personally had the impression that tuning while looking at one partial tend to change the way I was hearing, focusing on that partial more than needed. I've hear very perfect tunings made on a 3 partial curve that where sounding in perpetual expansion, as if no real foundation exists, only a temperament all along the piano. Organ player call that "Swiss tunings" (because of the clocks) With the VT100 you have a maximum focus on partial matching, including all partials together, and beats are computed (estimated), in the model, it is a more musical approach my opinion.
