getting punch(y)ings

Hi Tommy. I use a 1-ton chain fall for pulling plates. I have three soft nylon straps with open loops at the ends that are about 3 feet long. I find three places on the plate to loop one end around and then draw them together like a "tee pee" and loop them onto the chain fall hook. However, just like that, the plate will often be unbalanced. So I tie a nylon line to one of the straps to lengthen it and loop the line through the hook and then just tie it off wherever it makes the plate balance. You can get it pretty good just by snugging up the chain fall - taking the slack out of the nylon straps - and then just make any adjustments you need to. Once you get it balanced (really only takes a minute or two) you can preserve the adjustment and go in and out, in and out with the plate always well balanced. Works for me.
