Hamburg 1960's and definately not hide glue

original bridge? If so, it is probably glued with hide glue and you should
be able to remove it with acetic acid solution, or vinegar applied
sparingly to the seam and working the joint slowly with a thin knife. If
not, you could always cut the bridge off (take the screws out first) with a
flat pull saw blade and then chisel the remainder off down to the board
with a very sharp crank neck paring chisel. Depending on how close you cut
the bridge to the board, you could plane it down to get a nice flat joint
to reglue to the board (you would have to recap as well). Or you could
remake it, or, you could send it to Pianotek who performs that particular
service. Take measurements of the bridge height before you cut it off so
they can duplicate it. Or have them duplicate and put on a new cap. When
you get it back you can and set the bearing, pin it,, cut the notches, or
bevel, yourself.
