Hi Terry, Another approach to making a recording is to get a good quality sound card for your computer. That will eliminate the cost of the DAT machine and give you a wonderful playback output. Mine is the best piece of sound equipment I own. It will also allow you to convert your old vinyl records to cdrom's.
