Clyde,

It's not a myth or unfounded in some situations, at least with the 
installation of an oversized tuning pin. There are pinblocks so far 
gone that the neighboring tuning pins will be affected.

At the same time there are pinblocks that are virtually unaffected by 
such an act. Then it's simply a repair for the one in question.

No hard and fast rules other than it's something that has to be 
determined for each occurrence.
